My grandmother's celebrated her 70 years old on Sep 21th, 2010, she is a good grandmother because she can cook my favourite foods. In China, women just celebrate age on multiple on ten(such as 20 30 40 50 60...) and men just celebrate age singly for 9(such as 29 39 49 59...). The food just for old peopel celebrate birthday. If you eat it, you will live for long time.
I didn't know that Chinese people celebrate birthdays every ten years. I still have a lot to learn about China! It would be nice to see a picture of your grandmother. The food and the decorations look really interesting.
